What is the best way tell an officer over cb that there is suspicious person in the area and to look for them?

I'm writing a book and i need info on how to tell an officer that there is a suspicious person person in the area and that they should look for him. I've read up on some police codes. But i'm not sure how they would really be used. I know 10-4 and is ok and BOL is be on the lookout for. Are there any police officer out there that can assist me? Ten codes and police jargon vary between states, and even departments. For that reason, you should use plain language and not codes when contacting them.

Of course, it is your book so you can do what you want, but it may lead to confusion if someone from a different area reads it.
As Bruce noted, the 10 codes can vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Even the phonetic alphabet changes from one department to another. (A=Adam, B=Boy, C=Charles, D=David, etc.)

For our department, here are some codes:

10-46: motorist assist

10-50: accident

10-22: disregard/ignore

10-23: on-scene

10-8: "in service" or available for assignment

10-33: Officer needs assistance

10-55: Intoxicated driver

10-20: Location

10-4: Acknowledge

In our jurisdiction, a suspicious subject is not announced with a 10 code. Dispatch will say something like, "Attention all units, be on the lookout for a white male, approximately 20-25 years of age, blonde hair, blue eyes, wearing a blue hoodie, denim jeans and white gym shoes. Last seen heading north from Main Street on Elm Road on foot. Approach with caution. Wanted in connection with armed robbery committed 10 minutes ago in Anytown USA."

You might want to use language like that to avoid confusion with the various 10 codes. If you need/want more information, email me from my profile. I hope this helps. What is the best way tell an officer over cb that there is suspicious person in the area and to look for them?
it has been decades since I owned a CB, and as I recall there was a channel designated for emergencies (I think 9 or 19). I have no idea whether that would be monitored by a police agency now. Call 911 if it is an emergency, or through the designated non-emergency number.
Just tell them in regular English that a creepy dude might be a child molester is lurking nearby. Offer a description of the guy's height, weight %26amp; clothing. Or you could phone Americas Most Wanted. What is the best way tell an officer over cb that there is suspicious person in the area and to look for them?
