Why do I keep getting calls from The Dominican Republic? Could it be some sort of scam?

I didn't answer the calls because I didn't recognize the number, but I looked up the area code and discovered it was coming from The Dominican Republic. Whoever it is never leaves a message and they have called at least ten times.Why do I keep getting calls from The Dominican Republic? Could it be some sort of scam?

Perhaps you have a friend or close relative on holiday there, calling you? Maybe you should answer it. Then go from there.

probably trying to reach someone over here in the united states but has the wrong number. just don't answer a couple more times then they will realize that they have the wrong number. no biggie = ]
If I was you I would answer it because it could be true or else you could leave alone and not get involved.That excact same thing happened to me in Morroco when I was on Holidays(I didnt answer it)%26lt;%26lt;thats the easy way but if you worry easly then aswer and get it off your mind
It's probably a telemarketer. I live in PA and get random phone calls from different states and areas all the time. Just don't answer it. If they keep calling consistantly just report them to the phone company and they might be able to block them from calling your number.
It is a definite scam. You answer the phone and you will be charges with (900) type charges. You may never have to pay the charges but it will be a huge hassle and may end up on your credit report.
Wrong number or scam. Don't answer, they'll find a new person to harass.
Who knows, anything and everything's a possibility here. Since you don't recognize the number or know anyone who's over there, you're doing okay-don't answer the phone. If it's important, they should send you a letter. Should you become worried? That's up to you, I don't know why on earth they're calling your number for. But, it continues, you could either don't answer the phone or you could answer it and find out why are they calling your number for. The choice is up to you.
